PROPOSAL - PHASE I

To connect (BC Ferries) foot passengers between:

Powell River to BC Ferry (BCF) terminal, and between
BCF Earls Cover terminal to BCF Langdale terminal,
and viceversa.

Currently it is not possible for foot passengers to transit from Powell River (Saltery Bay) to Langdale (Vancouver). BC Transit only offers limited service (upon passenger request) to Saltery Bay from Powell River - and no connecting bus service exists between Earls Cove & Langdale / Gibsons.

The YVRCLIPPER-BUS will connect Powell River with Vancouver and Vicaversa as follows:

1. “Clipper Bus-1” departs Powell River to Saltery Bay BCF Terminal. This bus does not board the ferry.

2. Passenger takes BCF to Earls Cove.

3. “Clipper Bus-2” departs Earls Cove to Gibsons / Langdale BCF Terminal.

4. Passenger takes BCF to Horseshoe Bay and connect with the Translink 257 Express into Vancouver.

Transit Time for the above is c.a. 3.5 Hours.

Except for Langdale / Gibsons,
the YVRCLIPPER-BUS will not stop at any BC Transit served areas. The current proposal is to connect foot passengers with the BCF Terminals of Saltery Bay, Earls Cove and Langdale - including the proposed YVRCLIPPER-Ferry from Gibsons into the Vancouver area, see PHASE II below.

-START / TERMINATE; Earls Cove
(Egmond Passengers can board here as well),

-Petro Can (Garden Bay - under review),

-Pender Harbour (Madeira Park),

-Langdale / Gibsons - TERMINATE / START.

Transit Time for this portion is targeted at c.a. 1.3 hours.

Initially two or three 34 passenger buses are proposed. One for Powell River and One based on the coast. The third bus would be on Stand-By to cover for the other two - and may be used for Charter Purposes. Growth permitting the fleet will get a make-over with Double Deckers being our goal.

STANDARDS FOR THE YVRCLIPPER-BUS will be similar to the -FERRY standards. More in the
About section.

Progress can be found in the
Updates section.

PROPOSAL - PHASE II

To connect the YVRCLIPPER-BUS with the YVRCLIPPER-FERRY Services (in addition to BCF Schedules).

Per Phase I - the connection to BCF Langdale Terminal will remain - allowing foot passengers to choose their preferred method of sailing. In consideration, the YVRCLIPPER-FERRY may not connect with the travellers schedule From or To Gibsons thus permitting BCF as an option.

The bus routing for Phase II will be the same for Powell River to Saltery Bay.
The only additional stop, between Earls Cove & Langdale, will be at the Gibsons Harbour (Government Dock) from where the proposed YVRCLIPPER-FERRY will be depart & arrive.

YVRCLIPPER-BUS Schedules will be tailored to both BCF and YVRCLIPPER-FERRY Schedules to permit minimal connection times.

FLEET FORECAST

Service will commence with Shuttle Type Buses (34 Passengers) followed by “Standard Buses” (55 Passengers) and eventually the Double Deckers (80 Passengers).

Double-decker busses have the image & marketing advantages including unique charter opportunities and increased capacity (at the same fuel burn as a regular bus).
